Butterfly valves
Versatile flow control solutions
Butterfly valves are versatile valves used for opening, closing, and flow regulation. Economical and compact, they offer excellent sealing in both directions, adapt easily and cost-effectively to automation, and operate with low pressure losses.
Types: With plate and with lug
Materials: 304/316 stainless steel, GGG40, GG25
Controls: Manual, pneumatic, electric, geared
Main characteristics of butterfly valves
- Compact and economical design for a small footprint
- Quick opening and closing for efficient flow control
- Control options: manual, pneumatic, electric, or geared
- Available materials: 304/316 stainless steel, GGG40 cast iron, GG25
- Sealing gaskets: EPDM, NBR, Teflon, Viton depending on the application
- Maximum operating pressure: 16 bar
- Operating temperature up to 180°C depending on the model
Types of butterfly valves
We offer two types of butterfly valves: wafer and lug. The main difference between these two types lies in their method of connection to the pipeline. Wedge butterfly valves are attached to the flange with individual bolts, allowing for cleaning, inspection, and repair without completely interrupting production. In contrast, wafer butterfly valves are attached to the flange with studs. Consequently, cleaning, inspection, and repair of these valves require a complete system shutdown.

Design and operating principle
Butterfly valves are a versatile type of valve used to regulate flow in pipelines. They get their name from the shape of their flap, which resembles a butterfly's wing. Thanks to their quick opening and closing and compact design, these valves are frequently used in low-pressure systems and large-diameter pipes.
The basic components of a butterfly valve include a disc, a stem, and a body. The disc is a rotating shaft that passes through the center of the valve. By rotating the stem, the user adjusts the position of the disc within the cross-section of the pipe, thus increasing or decreasing the fluid flow area.
